Scottsdale Fire Department celebrates 10 years of caring for you
On July 1, 2015, Scottsdale Fire Department celebrates its 10th Anniversary as a municipal fire department.
Since that “Born on Date” 10 years ago, the department has responded to more than 260,000 emergency calls and has grown stronger and more efficient as an organization.
With the help of public safety partners, SFD responds to all events and incidents within an “all-hazards” response model, exemplifying the mission of caring for citizens’ and visitors’ emergency needs regardless of cause.
“I wish to thank our current and past employees for their contributions throughout these past 10 years,” says Fire Chief Tom Shannon. “Their extraordinary skill sets and professionalism have established Scottsdale Fire Department as a premier partner within the Phoenix Regional Dispatch and Deployment system.”
The future offers many opportunities for SFD to deliver contemporary services, particularly in the areas of out-of-hospital healthcare, mass gathering event management, fire prevention programing, and hazard mitigation.
“We remain optimistic about the state of the economy and are committed to seek new and innovative ways to improve and enhance our services and programs,” says Chief Shannon. “We will rely on the guidance of our strategic planning objectives to ensure we remain true to our mission of caring for the citizens and visitors of Scottsdale.” For more information email: firepio@scottsdaleaz.gov
